The following events took place in 20 BBY.

This year was known as Year 15 after the Great ReSynchronization.

Events[]

  • The forces of the Federal Republic of Aurelia manage to destroy the Gandr during Operation Whale Hunt.
  • With the destruction of the Gandr, her sister ship, the Gleipnir, is brought into active service and finally revealed to the general public and Aurelia.
  • In the final action of the Alendal and Leasath Campaign, the Union-Aurelian offensive against the Democratic Republic of Leasath, the Aurelian First Fleet is destroyed during the Second Battle of the Danern Straits]], this cripples the Aurelian offensive and allows Leasath to take the initiative.
  • Invasion of Aurelia and the Aurelian Landings occur concurrently, with Leasath Army forces invading from the north and the Leasath Marines making amphibious landings along Aurelia's east coast.
  • With Leasath's victory in the Battle of Griswall Aurelia's capital city falls to Leasath, Aurelia sets up an emergency capital in the southern Aurelian city of Santa Elva.
  • Battle of Santa Elva, Santa Elva is conquered by Leasath, Aurelian forces flee to the west, towards Cape Aubrey, and to the south, across the South Sea to Sud Island.
  • Battle of Cape Aubrey: Leasath forces crush Aurelian forces in the west and conquer the region of Cape Aubrey. Aurelian survivors flee southwards along Aurelia's southwest coast, pursued by Leasathian forces.
  • Mrs Alexandria Gasparia and Mrs Norma Robertson write and compose, respectively, The Fields of Cape Aubrey, a mourning ballad for Leasath's soldiers who fell during the Battle of Cape Aubrey, their own husbands were two of Leasath's soldiers who died in the battle.
  • Following the Battle of Sud Island, Aurelia's final stronghold, the Democratic Republic of Leasath wins the Leasath-Aurelia War.
  • In the wake of the Leasathian victory, Diego Navarro, the Head of State of Leasath forms the Empire of Leasath-Aurelia and uses Aurelian financial backing to repair the damage Leasath suffered during the Leasath Civil War of 23 BBY-22 BBY.
  • Beginning of the Vandal Wars.
  • End of the first part of the Vandal Wars.
  • The Union Senate passes the Union National Conscription Act, forcing all male citizens of the Union of Earth States between the ages of 18 and 50 to join the Union military and fight in the Earth Civil War, however one could buy their way out for the sum of U$10,000, an entire year's wage for the average Union citizen. Most Union citizens hold sympathies for the Confederacy, and have no desire to risk their lives fighting against the Confederates, anger rapidly spreads.
  • Anger over the Conscription Act boils over in Union City in the Republic of Wekland when the "Conscription Lottery" begins, Confederate sympathisers, those who resent the rich for dodging the conscription and those fearful of almost certain death on the battlefield start a large riot, the riot lasts 5 days.
  • Leasath contracts the Techno Union Earth Division to build the Gungnir, the first member of the Gandr II-class Aerial Cruiser, in improved version of the original Gandr-class, she enters service in 19 BBY, she has improved weapons systems and engine technology used on starships from the rest of the Galaxy, she is also able to operated in space in a limited capacity.
  • The Union of Earth States adopts a new Confederate-inspired 110-star flag, believing that the old flag is no longer fit for purpose, the old flag having been insulted by the Confederates as an "ugly flag" since the outbreak of the war.
  • Oliver Irton, a Confederate sympathizer from North Valand and brother of President Henry Irton of North Valand, forms the Provisional Government of the Independent State of North Valand, merging all pro-Confederate North Valandan rebel units under a single organization, the Provisional Government will become the new Senate of North Valand following the Confederate victory in the North Valand Campaign.
  • Nathaniel Kenobi is knighted.
  • Leykor-Varrk Compromise takes effect.
  • Utaalk's term as mayor of Raxus Prime ends.
  • Alpha Red Asteroid Base is constructed.
  • Leviathan Armament Project initiates.'
  • Confederate forces temporarily occupy North Valand in the North Valand Campaign, with assistance from allied local militia units.
  • Operation Trident: A three-pronged amphibious landing is undertaken by Confederate forces on Soutalia's coast, the operation stretches from Baysville in the West to Marisville in the East. The beaches are codenamed Shark, Orca and Stingray from West to East. A largely isolated operation by the 27th Zarkan Kingdom Marines is undertaken on Barracuda Beach, five miles to the West of Shark Beach.
  • Composition of Oliver Irton's Grand March by Reginald L. Peticolas, the piece is adopted as the national anthem of the Confederate nation of North Valand, becoming one of few national anthems without official lyrics.
  • North Valand votes to join the Confederate States of Earth as an independent state, the majority of Unionist North Valandans fled to Union-held territory following the Confederate occupation, leaving a Confederate-sympathising majority of the North Valandan population.
  • Following the taking of North Valand the final campaign of the Northern Front takes place, the Northtown Offensive, with the goal of capturing the Union's major city in the north, Northtown, the capital of the nation of Northland, Northtown is captured in the days leading up to the end of the war, leading to the surrender of all northern Union units, the Northern Front comes to an end.
  • The Confederacy establishes the interim Military Governorate of Northland, a military government which will run Northland until a pro-Confederate puppet government can be installed.
  • Laralia, the western region of Soutalia, secedes from the rest of the Republic of Soutalia and de facto joins the Confederacy as the West Soutalia Governorate under Governor Andrew Cobb.
  • Eager to join the winning side, and due to their Confederate sympathies, the citizens of the state of Firwoods, the state covering the western portion of Northland, asks the local Confederate officer commanding the temporary Confederate occupation forces to admit them as a Territory of the Confederacy. The officer contacts the Confederate Parliament, who agrees, and the two parties sign the Treaty of Firwoods Gulch, the signatories from Northland are viewed as traitors by the pro-Union Northlandian government-in-exile.
  • The Treaty of Firwoods Gulch creates the Territory of the North-East, Firwoods Gulch serves the capital of the territory, and the seat of the Territorial Legislature.
  • The Republic of Western Soutalia, the successor to the West Soutalia Governate, becomes the 92nd nation to join the Confederacy
  • The Zann Consortium steals the prototype Zelac-class Star Destroyer.
  • Veight Station is destroyed.
  • Alexander Wimborne, famed pre-Confederate Zarkanian composer, dies at the age of 71 and three months. His last piece produced prior to his year and a half-long permanent retirement before his death was an early 21 BBY Confederate patriotic song called Up, The Young Flag.
  • The Republic of Wekland joins the Confederacy following the Wekland Revolution, undertaken with Confederate support, Wekland becomes the 95th, and final, state to join the Confederacy.
  • The Confederate States of Earth wins the Earth Civil War through the capture of President Williams leader of the Union, at the Battle of Fort Precipice, and the Siege of Williamston, the Union capital, as a result of the Union agrees to sign a peace treaty in return for their president, the result is the Treaty of Williamston, in which the U.E.S is forced to grant legitimacy to the Confederacy, and is treaty bound to respect the C.S.E's independence.
  • Mere hours prior to the signing of the Treaty of Williamston ex-New Earth Republic Confederate volunteers led by ex-NER officer Commander Henry Vorivich enter the Union Senate building and hold it hostage, a joint Confederate-Union force led by Field Marshal Alexander Norman, commander-in-chief of the Confederate States Army, battles the SNER terrorists, and defeats them.
  • The day on which the signing of the Treaty of Williamston takes place is declared by Jane Zarkan to be the Confederate Independence Day, an annual holiday in which the C.S.E gives thanks for its independence, self-determination, liberty and those died for its freedom. A song titled Hail, Confederacy is first performed publicly to commemorate the first Confederate Independence Day.
  • The Confederate States of Army forms the Army of Occupation, an army of reservists and volunteers, the purpose of the army is to maintain forces within the Union of Earth States, to ensure the Union doesn't attempt to restart the Earth Civil War.
  • As per the Treaty of Williamston the region of Morivania, the north-western state of Nortalia, becomes the independent Morivanian Republic, considered the successor to the Republic of Morivania of 24 BBY - 23 BBY. Whilst the Morivanian Republic is de jure an independent state, it is de facto a puppet state of the Confederate States.
  • Denn Antors, author of a book titled Zarkania Must Perish! is viciously beaten by a group of Zarkanian Confederate soldiers of the Army of Occupation.
  • Two months following the end of the war Confederate States of Earth has her first presidential election, Jane Zarkan having served as president for over a year without being elected due to the crisis of fighting a war shortly after the Confederacy having been formed, Jane Zarkan wins the presidency in a landslide, winning a staggering 97% of the vote.
  • The Dalek Empire takes over the galaxy
  • The Mission to the Jedi Temple took place
  • The Showdown at Coruscant docks takes place between Darth Sidious (Shoretrooper) and Viscus Opress.
  • The Z-95 Carnifex comes into service with the Morsian Navy.
